Are you keen and enthusiastic, can you be relied upon to support staff working in a front line patient environment? – then you may be who we are looking for. A technical assistant is required to join the Medical Equipment Library team, within Clinical Engineering, who will assist the department in provision of an equipment support service to the Trust.
This is in relation to supporting pressure relieving devices for the Tissue Viability Service.
A cheerful disposition and good inter-personal skills are essential. You should have a good basic education with some computer skills and preferably a driving licence.
Current technical knowledge is not essential, but you must be willing and have the aptitude to undertake any necessary training provided.
The main features of the job are (under supervision) responding to requests from equipment users and assisting with the organisation of adequate stock levels to maintain supply in relation to demand for Pressure Relieving Devices within the remit of the Medical Equipment Library. This will include cleaning, delivery and collection of Dynamic Pressure Relief equipment to/from wards both at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. Preparing equipment for re-issue by cleaning, in accordance with Trust decontamination procedures and performing basic functional testing and repairs.
You must be capable of lifting or manoeuvring moderate to heavy or awkward objects, with assistance or the use of suitable handling devices.
** Salary reflects year 2 of 3 year NHS pay deal
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
