Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to the role of department Housekeeper within this busy acute surgical setting.
The role is part time 30 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
General Surgery is a busy service that requires you in conjunction with the nursing team to ensure that high standards are maintained to deliver a quality service.
A significant aspect of the role is effective stock control. Ensuring that equipment and facilities are maintained as well as managing an effective cleaning and maintenance regime for the medical devices used within the department. Knowledge of working in a care environment would be an advantage but not essential.
Academic qualifications are not essential although you will be required to complete the National Care Certificate, you should possess excellent team working and communication qualities (both written and verbal), IT skills would also be an advantage as most stock ordering is done electronically. Full training and support will be provided.

The Trust’s secondary care service portfolio is comprehensive, covering the major medical and surgical specialties, routine and specialist diagnostic services and other clinical support services. These services are provided primarily to a catchment population of approximately 600,000 in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire area.
HUTH provides specialist and tertiary services to a population of 1.25 million extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively.
