We are looking for a dynamic individual to join a team of 16 cardiologists at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for a post with special interest in cardiovascular imaging.
The Department of Cardiology and Cardiothoracic surgery are both based at the Castle Hill Hospital in a purpose built, £28 million DOH funded Heart Centre which opened in 2009. We are a high volume multi-modality imaging centre with onsite access to advanced echocardiography, cardiovascular MRI, cardiovascular CT, Nuclear and molecular imaging. The department performs 900 cardiovascular MRIs, 1400 cardiovascular CTs (including the use of HeartFlow non-invasive FFR), 800 stress echocardiograms and 800 cardiac nuclear perfusion scans.
Facilities include 4 dedicated cath labs covering EP, all complex devices, elective and acute PCI work, a 15 bedded cardiology day ward, 10 bedded cardiac monitoring unit, and two general cardiology wards.
We are a University teaching hospital affiliated with the Hull York Medical School (HYMS). The hospital has benefited from major investment in a clinical research and teaching building, cardiothoracic and oncology centres and a new £7 million Emergency Department. We employ approximately 8,000 staff and provide a comprehensive range of acute services from 2 hospital sites for a based population of around 650,000, with some specialist services aimed at an extended catchment area of 1.2 million people.
