To support with service delivery an exciting opportunity has become available to join the Trust's Retail Catering team. The position would require the post holder to work at both Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital on a rotation of shifts. The position is 30 hours a week.
The role involves working in a team or on your own to ensure provision of a comprehensive and cost-effective catering and retail service that meets the needs of staff, visitors and patients whilst fulfilling the objectives of the Trust.
Duties will include assisting in the ordering, receiving and receipting of goods, preparation, packing, distribution, cooking and service of meals, confectionery and other food items. IT skills and ability to use an electronic points of sale will be required.
A full UK driving licence (clean) is advantageous for this position as some duties may include distribution of stock on and off site and driving the Trust vehicle. Please detail the status of your driving licence within the supporting information section of the online application form.
This role will predominantly be working within a catering environment selling a range of food and beverages along with ensuring full compliance with food safety at all times. The post holder must ensure all working practices are in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations, Codes of Practice for Caterers and all relevant Trust policies.
Hours of Work:
Working a rotation of shifts between Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. The shifts that would be predominantly worked are 06:00 to 14:00 at Hull Royal and 07:00 to 15:00 Castle Hill which would be agreed a minimum of two weeks in advance. On occasions and with notice the shifts may alter and the post holder may be required to work weekends and public holidays.
Amendments to shifts would be pre-agreed a minimum of two weeks in advance and suitable applicants must have a flexible approach to working patterns.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
