HULL UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITALS NHS TRUST
RADIOLOGY: CONSULTANT RADIOLOGISTS 3 Posts (Full time or Part time)
Applications are invited for the posts of Consultant Radiologists at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. These posts are new posts to the Trust meet the growing demand in radiology workload. Part time applicants will be considered
The successful candidates will join a team of 15 “Body” radiologists. There is the possibility of a sessional commitment to NVIR (biopsies, drainage, nephrostomy), as well as an oncology MDT commitment. The successful candidates would be expected to undertake 3 cross sectional reporting sessions and 2 acute CT lists per week.
The on call rota for “Body” radiology is currently split with 2 rotas. There is a separate NVI 1 in 5 on-call service and a separate cross-sectional on-call service currently 1:5.7. The successful candidate will have to contribute 1 PA to on-call with part time applicants doing on-call pro-rata.
The Trust has a complement of 33 Consultant Radiologists. Four of the thirty radiologists specialise in breast radiology and are within the Surgical Health Group. General radiological services are provided to the population of Kingston upon Hull and a large area of the East Riding of Yorkshire, and specialist radiological services to the whole of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire as well as parts of North Yorkshire and North and North East Lincolnshire. The majority of Consultant Radiologists work sessions on both major sites.
The organisation has a forward thinking approach to pension taxation and recognises that senior staff may be affected by excessive taxation including the annual allowance and “taper”. We are currently finalising a policy and would expect the postholder and other senior staff - if they would be affected by the annual allowance - to be able to access a pension restructuring “recycling” payment in lieu of pension contributions, worth the value of the employer pensions contribution (less employers NI).
Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HEY Trust) is situated in the geographical area of Kingston upon Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. The Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has two main hospital sites (Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital) an annual budget of circa £500 million, employs over 9,000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.2 million, whilst delivering a number of outpatient services from locations across the local health economy area.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
