We are recruiting to the position of Head of Emergency Planning.
This is an exciting position within Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and we welcome applications from individuals who have experience and knowledge of operational planning and working in a large and complex healthcare environment. Knowledge of emergency planning, incident management and response, and business continuity management would be an asset.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills and will be a confident and supportive leader. They will be educated to degree-level. An Emergency Planning Diploma or equivalent experience is desirable.
The postholder will be responsible for the direction, leadership, planning and delivery of the Trust’s Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response programme, ensuring all statutory and mandatory responsibilities are met in full. They will oversee the development and updating of key organisational documentation including the Trust’s Major Incident Plan and Business Continuity Plans.
The postholder will provide assistance, advice, training and support to all Trust staff on Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Planning and response (including Major Incident, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN)/Hazardous Materials (HazMat) incidents) ensuring that systems of excellence are in place in the event of major emergencies, internally or externally to the Trust.
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
