Are you interested in renal medicine? Would you like to see yourself working as a specialist renal dietitian within an award winning, forward thinking team? If so, an opportunity has arisen at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for Band 6 Specialist Renal Dietitian to join the team.

The renal dietetic team based at Hull Royal Infirmary has 5 Dietitians and one Dietetic Assistant Practitioner and is supported by admin and clerical staff. Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust provides specialist renal care to a large geographical area that encompasses Hull, East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. The dietitians are valued members of the multidisciplinary team and we provide outpatient services to pre dialysis, haemodialysis (including our satellite units in Bridlington, Scunthorpe and Grimsby), peritoneal dialysis and transplant clinics. We also provide inpatient services to the Hull Acute Kidney unit which is a 19 bed ward at Hull Royal Infirmary. We work closely with a range of specialist nurses, pharmacists and consultants and neighbouring renal services in Bradford, York and Leeds.

A full competency led training and support package will be provided to ensure you can develop your clinical skills in renal medicine and there will also be opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in other areas such as critical care.

Working alongside Specialist Dietitians, you will have a varied caseload of your own and support our team in the training of B and C placement students. You will also be able to develop and take part in staff teaching and support the team in audit and service developments. We have had the opportunity to present posters and abstracts at meetings such as UK Kidney Week and some of our dietitians have recently had articles published in peer reviewed journals.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals provide a comprehensive range of acute services from two hospital sites with an extended catchment population of 1.3 million people. The department has strong links with the Universities of Hull and York, Leeds Beckett University and with the British Dietetics Association.

Applicants must be HCPC registered Dietitians or due to obtain registration.

Reasonably priced hospital accommodation and help towards the cost of relocation may also be available.

Hull is a great place to live and with a cheap cost of living your money goes further here so you can enjoy the nightlife, music festivals, restaurants, theatres and bars. Hull was the UK’s City of Culture for 2017 and our world class visitor attractions and famous sports teams make Hull a great place to work, play, live and unwind. Hull is a great location with good transport links to Leeds, York, Manchester and London as well as direct ferry services to Europe. Within a 30 minute drive you can be at the beach or enjoying the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds. There are so many places to explore!

Applicants should note that all new appointments to Hull University Teaching Hospitals are subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probation period.

PLEASE NOTE: In cases where a vacancy receives a high number of applications, we may bring the closing date forward. You are therefore advised to get in quick!
