Job overview

The post will cover Ward catering Services at  Castle Hill Hospital .  Includes extra pay for weekend working. 

Post z 20.5hrs 

 Week 1, 

Monday  - 8.00 - 13.30pm, Tuesday  - 15.00 -18.30pm, Thursday - 15.00 -18.30pm

Week 2, 

Monday - 8.00 - 13.30pm & 15.00 - 18.30pm, Wednesday - 15.00 - 18.30pm, Friday - 8.00 - 13.30pm & 15.00 - 18.30pm, Saturday - 8.00 -13.30pm & 15.00 - 18.30pm




Main duties of the job

The post holder will assist in the provision of a comprehensive and cost-effective catering service that meets the needs of all patients whilst fulfilling the objectives of the Trust.

To provide a full range of high quality ward catering services including the regeneration and attractive presentation of a wide range of cook-freeze food items.

HUTH provides specialist and tertiary services to a population of 1.25 million extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively.

Essential criteria
  • Previous catering/food manufactoring experience
Desirable criteria
  • Previous healthcare work

Food Safety & Training

Essential criteria
  • Basic food safety training or above
  • GCSE maths and english
Desirable criteria
  • Level 2 or above food safety
  • NVQ level 2 or above


Essential criteria
  • General Catering Skills – ie knife skills, food preparation skills
  • Kitchen and personal hygiene.
  • Ability to meet service


Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of HACCP/Food Safety.
