The post will cover Patient Meal Services at Hull Royal Infirmary (HRI) but may be requested to cover at Castle Hill Hospital (CHH) on occasions.
The successful candidates will have planned daily shifts, but these are subject to change, changes would be verbally agreed by line managers during roster planning. The two below posts are on a two week roster pattern.
Post G 18.75hrs over a 2 week rolling roster
Week 1 – Saturday - 8.00am – 13.30pm & 15.00 – 18.30pm HRI, Sunday - 8.00 am– 13.30pm & 15.00 – 18.30pm HRI = 17hrs
Week 2 – Monday - 8.00am – 13.30pm & 15.00 – 18.30pm HRI, Friday - 8.00am – 13.30pm & 15.00 – 18.30pm HRI, Sunday – 15.00 – 18.30pm HRI = 20.5hrs
Post H 21.25hrs over a 2 week rolling roster
Week 1 – Monday - 8.00am – 13.30pm & 15.00 – 18.30pm HRI, Friday - 8.00am – 13.30pm & 15.00 – 18.30pm HRI, Sunday- 15.00 – 18.30pm HRI = 20.5
Week 2 – Monday – 8.00 – 13.30pm, Saturday - 8.00am – 13.30pm & 15.00 – 18.30pm HRI, 8.00am – 13.30pm & 15.00 – 18.30pm HRI = 22hrs

The department operates from 06:00 through to 18:30 7 days a week including public holidays, the above posts will predominantly work 08:00-13:30 and 15:00-18:30 and include weekends as part of the pattern.
The post holder will assist in the provision of a comprehensive and cost-effective catering service that meets the needs of all patients whilst fulfilling the objectives of the Trust.
To provide a full range of high quality ward catering services including the regeneration and attractive presentation of a wide range of cook-freeze food items.
Duties will include the preparation, storage, packaging, distribution, regeneration and service of patient meals. Regularly handling frozen, chilled and cooked food items whilst standing for prolonged periods of time.
Ensure all patient meals are accurate and served in a timely manner.
To undertake a wide range of general kitchen and catering hygiene duties at ward level.
To work in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations, Codes of Practice for Caterers and all relevant Trust policies.
You must be able to demonstrate good customer/patient care skills, and have a basic knowledge of food service and food hygiene.
Flexibility to work between Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital is essential.
Please note: These roles do involve physical work in an area with varying temperatures.
** Salary relates to year 2 of 3 year NHS pay deal
