Job overview

At Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust we are passionate about our values of Care, Honesty, and Accountability.

This apprenticeship provides candidates with the same passions as us to kick start their own healthcare careers, completing a 15-month Level 2 apprenticeship which will provide the essential health and caring skills required in the NHS today.

The apprenticeship team will provide ongoing support throughout the programme to assist the apprentice to learn and develop within the clinical environment.

There may be opportunity to develop further within the organisation as part of the developing workforce.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside other healthcare professionals, successful candidates will be working in busy patient areas gaining an insight into care and how a modern hospital ‘works’. Candidates will be fully supported in learning new skills so they can work safely and calmly in our wards and clinics. This will include learning a variety of tasks such as supporting patients with fluid and dietary requirements, helping with menu choices, supporting personal care activities (i.e. washing, dressing, going to the toilet), making beds, keeping our areas clean and tidy, as well as appropriate record keeping and helping other clinical staff in their duties. Through successfully completing this apprenticeship candidates will become familiar with the standards expected within healthcare today and also a valued member of the wider team.

Working for our organisation

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust strongly encourages new starters to have the Covid-19 vaccine. However, it is not a mandatory requirement to work for us.
