Management Secretary - Surgery Health Group

Fixed Term Contract/Internal Secondment Opportunity – 6 months, subject to review

Due to a period of maternity leave, an opportunity has arisen within the Surgery Health Group for the position of Management Secretary at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. You will work as part of the small Administration Team to ensure the efficient and effective provision of secretarial and administrative services, in support of the Directors and Divisional Management Teams within the Surgery Health Group.

Are you pro-active, able to prioritise an extensive workload, can use your own initiative and problem solve in support of the team? If so, then we would like to hear from you, as the responsibilities of this role are varied and interesting and you will be a key member of making the Heath Group run smoothly in pursuit of our goals.

The Surgery Health Group Admin Office is the first point of contact for many enquiries therefore you will need to be friendly and professional at all times in dealing with staff, manager, patients, service users, visitors, other Health Groups and the Corporate Teams. You must be able to maintain a calm and appropriate manner in a variety of situations and seek support as required. You must also be able to make day to day decisions and have the confidence to communicate effectively.

The role will demand a degree of flexibility and willingness to undertake a variety of administrative and secretarial tasks. It is a very busy office, which requires you to utilise previous experience of working in an office environment, particularly when you have you have supported a busy senior management team.

To succeed, you must possess a minimum of three GCSE A-C passes, an NVQ 3 in Business Administration (or similar area), an ECDL IT qualification, or equivalent standard of computer literacy, keyboard skills and administration experience.
