An exciting opportunity has arisen for two dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our Clinical Administration Service as Senior Administrators within the Emergency Department at Hull University Teaching Hospital.

Main duties of the job

You would be responsible for a large team of administrators covering a 24/7 rota for 7 busy reception desks. the shift patterns are on a rolling 4 week rota basis. The  set shift patterns will be the following for a 15 hour vacancy and a 22.5 hour vacancy are the following:

07.00-15.00(early)    15.00-23.00 (late)   23.00-07.00(overnight)

Both positions will be given set shifts please see below:

22.5 hours (7.5 over 3 days)

wk. 1: Monday lates, Thursday early, Friday early

Wk. 2: Friday early, Saturday lates, Sunday lates

Wk. 3: Tuesday late, Friday late, Saturday overnight

Wk. 4:  Monday late, Wednesday late, Sunday late

15 hour (7.5 over 2 days)

Wk. 1: Saturday late, Sunday late

Wk. 2: Monday late, Thursday early

Wk. 3: Saturday late, Sunday late

Wk. 4: Thursday late, Saturday late

hours worked after 20.00-07.00am and weekend shifts will be paid at an enhanced rate.

Previous administration and customer service experience is essential. Supervising a team would also be desirable, but we are first and foremost looking for individuals with a passion to work in a health care setting with a 'can do' attitude, flexibility towards hours and an ability to adapt to change.

Essential criteria
  • GCSE's A-C in English and Maths
  • Level 2 NVQ in Administration
  • Level 2 NVQ in Customer Service
Desirable criteria
  • Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Administration
  • Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Customer Service
  • Supervisory/ Team Leader qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 1 years experience of providing a service to patients or customers
  • Experience of using multiple electronic systems
  • Experience working within a large team in a busy environment
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of supervising a team

Skills, Knowledge and Ability

Essential criteria
  • Ability to be flexible in working hours
  • Proven experience of prioritising workload
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Referral to Treatment rules and guidelines
