Applications are invited for Ilizarov Limb Reconstruction and Bone Infection research fellow based at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Hull, UK for the duration of 6 months with potential to increase it for 12 months.

Applicants must hold full GMC registration. Applicants should also possess the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, have good interpersonal skills, and have a caring attitude towards patients and evidence of good clinical practice.

This fellowship is open for UK and International trainees. Fellow would gain experience in management of complex trauma, bone infections, non-unions and deformity planning and correction. Fellowship with provide comprehensive and holistic approach towards the limb reconstruction, including primary and secondary care management of limb reconstruction patients. Post holder will attend bone infection MDT and combined bone infection clinics. Multi professional bone infection clinic and MDT is jointly attended by Orthopaedic, plastics and infectious diseases consultants.

This post includes elective and trauma lists, out patient clinics and providing support to limb reconstruction nurse and physiotherapist.  The post-holder will be responsible for the care of all limb reconstruction and bone infection inpatient and providing support to bone infection service.

Post holder is expected to undertake research or join the ongoing research and is expected to produce at least one presentation / publication during their fellowship.

Limb reconstruction team consists of two consultants, limb reconstruction nurse and Physiotherapist. There are opportunities to learn US guided pain control for complex patients.
