Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals’ NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute services from two hospital sites to almost 600,000 people in the Hull and East Yorkshire area. We are a teaching hospital and provide a number of sub regional specialities, serving a population of 1.2 million in North Yorkshire, North and North East Lincolnshire.

We require a highly specialist occupational therapist to provide support within Stroke and Acute Neurology for a period of 12 month for maternity cover. The post holder will take primary responsibility for the day to day management of an existing team of Occupational therapy staff who provide specialist assessment early rehabilitation and supportive discharge planning to inpatients who present following an acute stroke and or decline in functional status and/or an exacerbation of a neurological condition.

The successful candidate should have extensive clinical and leadership experience and be able to demonstrate ability to work within a busy sometimes challenging environment.

Formal supervision will be received from Head of Occupational Therapist.

The Occupational Therapy Service is a forward thinking service committed to evidence based practice and continuous professional development.
