The Clinical Trials function of the Academic Department of Respiratory Medicine at Castle Hill Hospital is looking for a research nurse to cover maternity leave working within the unit to support an increasing portfolio of Respiratory clinical trials. Applicants should be 1st level registered nurses and have significant nursing experience.
Experience of working in a specialty with respiratory related procedures/care or in clinical research, plus a mature attitude, are essential.
The post-holder will be required to work with all members of the multi-disciplinary team in the recruitment, screening and care of patients in respiratory clinical trials. The post requires excellent communication skills, an understanding of scientific protocols, and an ability to prioritise workload and to work independently and flexibly.
The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic and ready to work actively to recruit patients in line with NIHR targets.
The post holder will work as a part of an established team of research nurses and clinical trials assistants. Liaison with external research partners such as pharmaceutical companies, research networks and clinical trials units will be required.
Although the post holder's primary base would be within academic respiratory medicine, there is an expectation that the post holder will be flexible and responsive to the research needs of the organisation and may therefore be required to work in other research areas or as part of the 'Generic Research Team'.
The post is full time 37.5 hours per week, and the work pattern will be variable between the hours of 8am and 6pm Mon to Fri.
** Salary relates to year 1 of 3 year NHS pay deal with year 2 available from April 1st 2019
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
