Applications are invited for a Post CCT Fellow in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from 1st February 2018 for an initial 1 year period, with the potential to extend to a 2 year period. The appointee will have obtained their CCT in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and will work at both registrar & consultant level with support from the consultants in the Department. The post will include being on call on the ST3-7 level rota which is a hybrid rota and attracts a Band A on call supplement. Appointees should also hold full registration with the General Medical Council.

The post will appeal to candidates who would like to gain further experience at middle grade/consultant level prior to obtaining a substantive consultant post.

This is a Trust appointment and we are committed to providing a high standard of education and training for our junior staff, irrespective of whether they are in an educationally approved post or not.

The post will be situated mainly on the Hull Royal Infirmary site but may be expected to work on the Castle Hill Hospital site. The Hull/York Medical School opened in September 2003. Medical students rotate through the department and active involvement in teaching will be encouraged.

There is an excellent Postgraduate Centre with library facilities on-site. The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust has an annual budget of circa £481 million, employs over 8,000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.2 million. Hull is a thriving university city with excellent shopping and leisure facilities including concert halls, theatres and the largest aquarium in Europe. Hull has recently enjoyed City of Culture 2017 status. It is surrounded by attractive villages and countryside with the Minster town of Beverley only 8 miles from Hull Royal Infirmary and 4 miles from Castle Hill Hospital. It is within easy reach of the Yorkshire Moors and Dales and the East Coast. It has excellent road and rail links with the rest of Britain, as well as ferry and air links to Europe.
