Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant Paediatric Surgeon with specialist interest in urology.

This exciting opportunity will be based at Hull Royal Infirmary and will attract 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) for 4 months initially with the possibility of further extension. The post holder will work alongside the Trust’s existing three Consultant Paediatric Surgeons who provide surgical care for children 24/7. The post holder will provide general paediatric surgery and neonatal surgery. Opportunity will be provided for the successful candidate to provide day-case, in-patient operating lists and out-patient paediatric surgical clinics. Contribution to the existing 1:4 on-call rota will be required.

The services currently provided at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust also include Paediatric Speciality Surgery, Paediatric Assessment Unit, Paediatric Medicine, Paediatric High Dependency Unit, Paediatric Emergency Department, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Paediatric out-Patient Services and the Safeguarding Children’s service.

Hull and East Yorkshire is one of the largest acute Trusts in England, operating from two main sites: Castle Hill Hospital and Hull Royal Infirmary. It has an annual budget of circa £500 million, employs over 9000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.2 million.
