Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust I.T. Services Department are seeking a Customer Support Assistant.

As an NHS Acute environment is a unique support environment, the ideal candidate would have at least 6 months experience in an NHS IT department.

The successful candidate will form part of the team that is the first point of contact for all IT related incidents for Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Their duties will include answering and logging all IT queries received via phone, email or in person.

The post holder will investigate, diagnose and resolve incidents at first contact wherever possible, or escalating when necessary to a specialist team. There are a wide range of supported systems including PC based client hardware / software and mobile devices, with the objective of restoring normal service as quickly as possible.

The successful candidate will have up-to-date skills and qualifications and have experience of working in a Service / Help Desk environment along with knowledge of enterprise desktop, server and network systems and how they interlink.

Applicants should have first class telephone manners and communication skills, be a team player, remain calm under pressure and be able to express solutions and ideas to colleagues and customers at all levels.

The Trust is based on 2 Hospital sites, but the IT Service Desk team (that this role is part of) is based at Hull Royal Infirmary.

** Salary figure relates to year 1 of 3 year NHS pay deal, Year 2 will be available from April 1st 2019
