An exciting opportunity has arisen in the department of Gastroenterology at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust for a band 5 registered nurse to join our Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) team as an IBD infusion nurse. The successful candidate will join our dedicated Integrated IBD Team consisting of three specialist nurses, integrated IBD Research team and IBD Gastroenterologists to assist in the provision of high quality care to individuals with IBD. The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust have a case load of approximately 4,200 patients with IBD across three hospital sites. The successful candidate will participate in many aspects of the IBD service including;

Joint assessment and delivery of biologic therapies within a purpose built, dedicated IBD Infusion suite alongside an IBD Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Develop skills in patient education

Participation and integral member of the IBD MDT

Joint In patient review alongside an IBD Clinical Nurse Specialist

Contribute to service development and data collection to aid delivery of annual report.

Taking an active support role in delivering excellence in IBD Specific Clinical Research

 

The trust is committed to personal and professional development; the successful applicant will receive support and training to deliver the care requirements of the speciality and enable them to achieve their full potential and become an integral member of the multi professional team. Training and support will be provided for the management of Crohn’s and Colitis, which will incorporate band appropriate aspects of educational and supportive care to patients and medical treatments.

We are looking for caring, compassionate individuals who would like to develop themselves in this exciting and developing area of gastrointestinal medicine and would expect the successful candidate to demonstrate implementation of the 6Cs in practice and you will need to be committed to delivering high standards of dignified patient care in both an acute medical care and outpatient care setting.
