Ward 90 is looking for a Ward Sister to provide leadership, motivation and be a role model providing high standards of care. Ward 90 is a busy medical ward caring for 29 frail elderly patients including caring for patients with dementia and on end of life care.

You should be an experienced senior nurse looking to progress your career in leadership and management. You should be caring, enthusiastic, committed and flexible to delivering a safe and effective service for our patients. You will be confident in working on your own initiative and able to prioritise your case load on the ward. You will provide excellent leadership to the ward team as well as working collaboratively with the members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a quality service for our patients. You should have knowledge of the complex discharging process.

You will be working closely with the senior matron to lead new developments in Elderly Care as well as developing, improving, monitoring and maintaining standards of care of all members of staff and patients. As a Ward Sister you will be expected to take responsibility for the development of staff including appraisals and teaching. In return, we will offer you the assistance to continue your development in a friendly environment. You will be fully inducted into the role and be given full training in order to become a competent and effective Ward Sister ensuring management of the ward, delivering safe patient care and working within resources.

 ** Salary relates to year 1 of 3 year NHS pay deal, Year 2 will be available from April 1st 2019
