WITH A SPECIAL INTEREST IN GLAUCOMA

We would like you to apply to join our remarkable consultant team at the Hull And East Yorkshire Eye Hospital, together with its integrated ward, theatres and clinics.

We’re a committed, friendly and dynamic leadership team who’ll give you the opportunities to grow your skills and make an impact that gets noticed.

So, whether you’re starting out, settling down or simply looking for the next step in your career, there’s a role for you here.

Applications are invited for the 3 posts of Consultant Ophthalmologists. These are for specialist interests in Glaucoma, Medical Retina or Oculoplastics/Neuro.

The successful candidates will join an expanding Department of Ophthalmology, with 14 Ophthalmic consultants, covering a wide range of specialist interests.

A good surgical background is a pre-requisite for the posts and training in more complex cases will be afforded to the successful candidate. Full GMC registration is essential and membership in Ophthalmology part III or equivalent is desirable.

The successful candidates will work alongside a team of trainees, sharing clinical duties and will take part in the on-call rotas. In addition participation in regular Departmental and regional teaching is expected along with participation in clinical audit.

The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute services from two hospital sites. We serve a local population of approximately 600,000 with some services aimed at an extended catchment area of 1.2 million people. The trust now forms part of the Hull York Medical School with both the NHS sites and Universities of Hull and York. With an annual budget of £481 million and employing around 8000 staff we are committed to the continuous development of services for the benefit of patients and to providing a comprehensive service of the highest possible quality.
