The haematology laboratory at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust has a wide test repertoire including routine haematology, blood transfusion, coagulation, special haemostasis and haemoglobinopathy testing.
The laboratory is one of the busiest haematology laboratories in the region processing in excess of 900,000 requests pa.

The department is equipped with the Sysmex HST system, IL TOP coagulation analysers and Ortho Vision blood transfusion analysers.
The wide variety of work and expertise available at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital provides an ideal environment for aspiring multidisciplinary Biomedical Scientists. This is a challenging post for an enthusiastic, well motivated, forward thinking individual, who will be expected to develop multidisciplinary skills as part of the laboratory's on-going move towards an integrated Blood Sciences department.

Individuals applying as a trainee position must have an IBMS accredited degree to undertake a IBMS registration portfolio. Applicants with partial portfolios may be given precedence for interviewing.
