Applications are invited for the post of Head of Finance to the Medicine Health Group. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive finance support to a large complex healthcare group with a budget of £79m. You will join the Finance team providing financial support to the senior management team comprising of the Medical Director, Nurse Director and Operations Director and be a key player to deliver high quality, safe effective care whilst maximising capacity and resources to best effect.

The Health Group encompasses a range of services including General Medicine, Medical Elderly, Cardiology, Stroke, Respiratory Medicine, Neurology, Nephrology, Diabetic Medicine, Endocrinology and Rheumatology.

To succeed you will lead the provision of accurate and timely finance business intelligence, produce strategic financial plans, provide strategic and operational advice to the team/board, develop major business cases and use Patient Level Costing and other benchmarking information to deliver the Health Group's efficiency programme.

If you have a positive, business like attitude, a full professional accounting qualification awarded by a UK FRC regulated accounting body i.e. ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA (or equivalent) and significant experience of working at a senior level in a complex organisation (NHS experience not essential), we would like to hear from you. You should also have demonstrable experience of strategic planning, option appraisals, working as part of multi-disciplinary team and positively influencing and leading others on financial issues that may run counter to their instincts.
