SO, YOU’RE GREAT… AND WE’RE GREAT,  FANCY WORKING TOGETHER?

Bank Dietitian/ Return to Practice Dietitian

Are you a previous Dietitian who is looking to ‘Return to Practice’ or a Dietitian who is looking for bank work? If so, Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust could be the place for you.

We can offer a full ‘return to practice’ program to support you through your HCPC re-registration, including supporting you with developing your knowledge and skills through competencies and direct patient supervision; with the opportunity to join our team of bank Dietitians upon successful re-registration.

We are also looking for enthusiastic and motivated bank Dietitians to join our forward thinking team of 30 Dietitians, 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioners and 9 Dietetic Assistants. The department is also supported by administration and clerical staff.

Based at either Hull Royal Infirmary or Castle Hill Hospital (including Queens Oncology Centre, a state of the art oncology treatment facility), this post will provide an excellent grounding in general dietetics in the 10th largest acute trust in England. We can offer experience in neurosciences & neurosurgery, renal, oncology, surgery (including parenteral nutrition), respiratory, critical care and gastroenterology. A full competency led training and support package will be provided to ensure you can develop your clinical skills in as many different areas as you wish to support your career aspirations.

Working alongside Specialist Dietitians, you will have a varied caseload of your own and support our team in the training of B and C placement students.

You will also be able to develop and take part in staff teaching and support the team in audit and service developments. We have had the opportunity to present posters and abstracts at conferences such as BAPEN and some of our dietitians have recently had articles published in peer reviewed journals. We have also recently been recognised by Leeds Beckett University as a “progressive department supporting staff development into academic careers”.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals provide a comprehensive range of acute services from two hospital sites with an extended catchment population of 1.3 million people. The department has strong links with the Universities of Hull and York, Leeds Beckett University and with the British Dietetics Association.

Applicants applying must be HCPC registered Dietitians or due to obtain following re-registration.
