Clinical Coding Assistant x 2 (Full time 37.5hours)
Due to a promotion within the department applications are invited for the post of Clinical Coding Assistant, based within the Coding Department at both Castle Hill Hospital and Hull Royal Infirmary (periods of time spent cross site working, to provide cover or receive training, should be expected).
This is an exciting opportunity to join the coding team, and offers the opportunity of progression within the Clinical Coding Department. The post holder will be expected to ensure the department has the necessary resources to meet monthly deadlines, this will include searching for casenotes, managing discharge lists, data entry, sourcing and interpreting missing patient documentation. In return the successful individual will be offered full training in the principals of clinical coding which will allow them to progress as opportunities become available within the department.
We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, efficient individual, with good interpersonal skills, an individual willing to learn, ready for a challenge and capable of working independently and adapting to a dynamic and often pressurised working environment.
The successful applicant will have a working knowledge of the Trusts IT systems, a proven track record of being able to source difficult to find casenotes, good organisational and analytical skills and an eye for detail. The post provides great scope for personal and professional development and the potential opportunity to progress to the role of Clinical Coder.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
