The post will cover the Patient Meal Services predominantly based at Hull Royal Infirmary (HRI) with occasional cover at Castle Hill Hospital (CHH) and will be ward based. The post is a six month fixed term contract which will be reviewed after six months.
The successful candidates will have planned daily shifts, but these are subject to change, changes would be verbally agreed by line managers during roster planning. Both of the below posts are on a two week roster pattern. Specific details of the roster pattern can be gained by contacting the catering department.
Post 1 - 29.75 averaged weekly hours
Week 1 - Thursday, Friday , Saturday and Sunday working 08:00-13:30 and 15.00-18.30
Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday working 08:00-13:30 and 15:00-18:30
Post 2 -29.75 averaged weekly hours
Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday working 08:00-13:30 and 15.00-18.30
Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday working 08:00-13:30 and 15:00-18:30

The department operates from 06:00 through to 18:30 7 days a week including public holidays, the above posts will predominantly work 08:00-13:30 and 15:00-18:30 and include weekends as part of the pattern.
The post holder will assist in the provision of a comprehensive and cost-effective catering service that meets the needs of all patients whilst fulfilling the objectives of the Trust.
To provide a full range of high quality ward catering services including the regeneration and attractive presentation of a wide range of cook-freeze food items.
Duties will include the preparation, storage, packaging, distribution, regeneration and service of patient meals. Regularly handling frozen, chilled and cooked food items whilst standing for prolonged periods of time.
Ensure all patient meals are accurate and served in a timely manner.
To undertake a wide range of general kitchen and catering hygiene duties at ward level.
To work in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations, Codes of Practice for Caterers and all relevant Trust policies.
You must be able to demonstrate good customer/patient care skills, and have a basic knowledge of food service and food hygiene.
Flexibility to work between Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital is essential.
Please note: The role does involve physical work in an area with varying temperatures.
** Salary relates to year 2 of 3 year NHS pay deal
