The radiotherapy department is situated in the Queen’s Centre and serves a catchment area of 1.2million people in Hull and the surrounding region. This is a UK Centre of Excellence for the treatment and care of patients with cancer and the Radiotherapy Department continues to develop its international reputation built on forward thinking and innovation.
The radiotherapy team is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated band 5 staff nurse to join our multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be a key member of our patient support team which includes senior radiotherapy nurses, therapy radiographers and clinical support workers. The nurses provide a nurse-led service providing care for all radiotherapy patients from pre-treatment CT scan through to treatment completion within an out-patient setting. The post holder will nurse and manage patients with radiotherapy and chemotherapy related side effects, including acutely unwell patients and provide advice and information.
The post holder will have CPD opportunities to allow them to keep up to date with radiotherapy advances, advice and information given to patients. They will also be involved in the teaching of radiotherapy students and new staff.
Oncology experience is not essential as full training will be given. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive induction to the radiotherapy department and training package to support their learning and development.
** Salary reflects year 1 of 3 year NHS pay deal
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
