An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Full time (or a combination of part time would be considered), dedicated and reliable registered nurses to join our well established Upper GI and Maxillio-Facial team on Ward 14 at Castle Hill Hospital. We are a busy 27 bedded mixed sex ward that includes a 4 bedded HOB- which we are looking to expand soon. We are a friendly and welcoming team, that all work together to provide the best experience possible for our patients.


Our patient group is very varied, examples include, patients having major surgery following a diagnosis of cancer, weight loss surgery, major head and neck surgery, patients with tracheostomies, patients being investigated for a suspected cancer, palliative procedures, dental extractions under GA, the majority or our patients receive enteral or parenteral nutrition. Full training will be given to ensure that you are able to care for our patients safely.


We require hard-working, flexible individuals to work within our team and support the wards vision going forward. You should have excellent communication skills and a desire to work within the multidisciplinary team delivering a co-ordinated approach to high quality safe patient care. You will have to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously as well as within a dedicated team.


The hours of work will include 24/7 internal rotation days and nights. However please do not be put off applying if you have any specific requests regard shift patterns/days/nights worked, as the Ward Sister is happy to discuss and accommodate where possible.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
