The Clinical Trials function of the Academic Department of Oncology and Haematology at the Queens Centre, Castle Hill Hospital is looking for a Senior Research Nurse. The post holder will be responsible for managing the Academic Oncology/Haematology research team and co-ordinating a portfolio of clinical trials at the Queen’s centre for Oncology and Haematology at the Trust. The post holder will be involved in ensuring that all Academic Oncology and Haematology research undertaken safeguards the wellbeing of patients and is conducted to GCP standards and the UK Clinical Trial Regulations to facilitate the production of good quality research. The post holder will also provide clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team, and will supervise the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care ensuring that nursing, corporate, and external standards are maintained and measured. She/he will be instrumental in implementing Trust objectives to enhance the performance and development of Oncology and Haematology research.
The post holder should have extensive post registration experience of Oncology and/or Haematology, experience in leadership and management and a detailed knowledge of clinical trial management, research governance and ICH-GCP.
The post is a substantive contract, full time 37.5 hours per week, and the work pattern will be variable between the hours of 8am and 6pm Mon to Fri.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
