Clinical Coding Officer (Full time 37.5hours)

Finance and Information Directorate

Castle Hill Hospital/Hull Royal Infirmary

Band 3

Permanent

Due to retirement and relocation within the department applications are invited for the post of Clinical Coding Officer, based within the Coding Department at either Castle Hill Hospital or Hull Royal Infirmary (periods of time spent cross site working, to provide cover or receive training, may be expected).

This is an exciting opportunity to join the coding team, and offers the opportunity of progression within the Clinical Coding Department. The post holder will be expected to ensure their coding is 100% completed each month, to a nationally recognised standard. Candidates should have already completed the Clinical Coding Standards course. In return the successful individual will be offered full training and support to gain experience within different specialities and this will allow them to progress and work towards the NCCQ as opportunities become available within the department.

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, efficient individual, with good interpersonal skills, an individual willing to learn, ready for a challenge and capable of working independently and adapting to a dynamic and often pressurised working environment.

The successful applicant will have a working knowledge of the Trusts IT systems, and will have completed a Clinical Coding Standards Course, with a willingness to work towards the NCCQ in the future.

They will have good organisational and analytical skills and an eye for detail. The post provides great scope for personal and professional development and the potential opportunity to progress to the role of Senior Clinical Coder.
