Junior Sister / Charge Nurse -  Band 6 – full time

Ward 27 Castle Hill Hospital requires a highly motivated Junior Sister / Charge Nurse to join our team.

The ward provides specialist care for patients undergoing Cardiac and Thoracic procedures.

Ward 27 has 26 beds, 8 of which are dedicated beds for level 1 - High Observation beds

It is essential that candidates have a high level of knowledge and experience within these specialities. Experience of caring for pre & post-operative patients, including those requiring Level 1 ward based care and interventions is also essential.

Good Leadership skills are required as you will providing clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team.

Candidates must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, organised and be prepared to support the ward manager in the everyday running of the ward.

It is expected that the Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will deputise in the absence of the ward manager and ensure a positive patient experience through the delivery of high standards of patient care.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills, IT skills and experience with electronic patient records is desirable, however training will be given.

The applicant must be able to exhibit their commitment to developing the service by demonstrating the ability to work independently as well as within a dedicated team to provide a high quality patient experience.

Candidates should have vast experience of teaching, mentorship and be of degree level qualification (or working towards).
