Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Virology)
Full time 37.5 hours/week
A position has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Biomedical Scientist to work in the virology laboratory based at the Castle Hill Hospital site of this UKAS accredited laboratory. This is a well-equipped laboratory providing a wide range of specialised and routine tests and handling approximately 150,000 tests per year. We are currently updating and expanding our equipment and test repertoire.
Laboratory core hours are between 08:30 and 17:00 Monday to Friday. A flexitime system is in operation. The post holder will be required to work flexibly depending on the needs of the service which may include any integrated shift system/rotation pattern which operates in the department. Weekends and Bank Holidays are covered on a rota basis.
Candidates must possess a BSc in Biomedical Sciences (or equivalent), Specialist portfolio or equivalent and at least 4 years post registration experience in diagnostic virology and be registered with the Health Care Professions Council
