Band 5 Full time (37.5 hours).
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse(s) band 5 to join our established and very friendly team of nursing staff within the Cardiology Day Ward and Cardiac Cath. Labs. Both areas have exceptionally high standards of care.
Applicants should have current registered nurse qualification, recent acute Hospital Trust nursing experience and be motivated to work within acute cardiology.
The successful applicant will predominately be based on the ward and clinics. They will be expected to participate in limited rotation into Cath. Labs. (not including any on call commitment) and work as part of the Cath. Lab. team. They will learn the role of circulating nurse under the direct supervision of an experienced Cath. Lab. nurse during invasive cardiology procedures.
The Cardiology 5 Day Ward is a very busy unit, dealing with up to 300 elective and acute cardiology patients per month. We also run a 3 day a week pre assessment clinic and are looking to expand this to 4 days a week. The unit is also a tertiary centre, accepting patients from across the region to undergo more complex cardiology procedures.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in caring for patients with a wide variety of acute / chronic cardiology conditions. In-house training is provided in relation to the cardiac specialty i.e. ECG recording and interpretation and use of specialist equipment.
We are currently a 24 hour ward Monday to Thursday nights closed Saturday and Sunday) with a view opening Friday night (closed Sunday only). This results in internal rotation onto night shifts to cover the service.
Successful applicants will gain valuable experience working in a tertiary cardiology centre, which serves East / North Yorkshire and North / North East Lincolnshire.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
